Money claims are disputes where a person claims that another person owes them money.

Examples may include:
– Unpaid debts;
– Goods or services not paid for;
– Contract-related payment disputes;
– Other civil money disputes.

The District Court may hear money claims not exceeding $3,000. Claims above the applicable limit may need to be filed in the Supreme Court.

Before filing a money claim, parties should prepare:
– Details of the claim;
– Evidence of the amount owed;
– Any written agreements;
– Receipts, invoices, or correspondence.

Court fees may apply when filing documents.
